It has been a long time coming, but i've finally invested in a drone. Enabling me to photograph the landscape from above opens up a unique perspective to my work.
Having used drones in the past, i've always known how much scope they have to open up my photography and capture unique perspectives once only accessible by helicopter. I did a lot of research in to what model i should go for and narrowed it down to the DJI Phantom 4 Pro and the DJI Mavic Pro – each carrying their own benefits.
The sole purpose of wanting to own a drone was the photography and videography aspect so the better camera on the Phantom 4 Pro was a big draw, however, the portability of the Mavic was hard to ignore. After months of research, eventually, the Mavic trumped the Phantom and I placed my order. I felt that the Mavic's camera was 'good enough' for what i needed and the ability to pack light and therefore have the drone on me in more situations than i would be able to with the much larger Phanton 4 Pro was the deciding factor.
I've been using the drone now for a month or so and so far, i'm super happy with the results. Below is a small collection of images captured.
